Works: Custom and Summary Properties for Word Processor Document Are Lost (239252)

SYMPTOMS

If you enter settings for the Custom or Summary properties of a Microsoft Works Word Processor document from within Microsoft Windows Explorer, you may experience both of the following symptoms:
  • The settings you entered do not take effect.
  • The settings you entered are lost.

    If you right-click the Works 2000 Word Processor document from within Windows Explorer, click Properties, and then click the Custom tab or the Summary tab, none of the data you entered appears in any of the fields in either tab.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Custom and Summary properties are not valid properties for a Works 6 or Works 2000 Word Processor document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
