Works 6/2000 Spreadsheet: Incorrect Year Is Displayed When You Use the Month/Year Date Format (239157)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Month/Year date format in Works Spreadsheet in Microsoft Works 2000 or Microsoft Works 6, the incorrect year may be displayed in the spreadsheet.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you type two digits to represent the year.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, type all four digits of the year when you use the Month/Year date format in the Works 2000 Spreadsheet.

MORE INFORMATION

If the Month/Year value that you typed is also a valid Month/Day value, Works interprets the Month/Year value as a Month/Day value and appends the current year to the date.

If the Month/Year value that you typed is not a valid Month/Day value, Works interprets the Month/Year value properly and displays the date as a month and year in the 20th century.

NOTE: If you change the date range in the Regional Settings tool in Control Panel, this behavior continues to occur. If you use the Month/Day/Year format to display dates, Works always defaults to the 1930-2029 year range regardless of the regional settings for your computer.
