No Talk Button in Phone Dialer (238759)

SUMMARY

The Phone Dialer in Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition has been changed. There is no Talk button like the one that exists in Phone Dialer for Windows 95. This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

To correctly use this version of Phone Dialer:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and then click Phone Dialer.
  2. In Phone Dialer, type in the number you want to call, and then click Dial or click on the desired speed dial button. Lift up the hand set when it is dialing.
  3. Perform a voice conversation using the hand set.
  4. Click Hang Up, and then hang up the phone after the voice conversation is finished.

    NOTE: To generate a log for the phone call, the "Hang Up" button must be clicked when you finish a phone conversation.
