SYMPTOMS

It is not possible to administer Index Server 2.0 from the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) on a computer running Windows NT Workstation 4.0.

CAUSE

There is no supported way to administer Index Server 2.0 on a computer running Windows NT Workstation 4.0 other than using the HTML Admin.

MORE INFORMATION

The only way to administer through the MMC is through the Index Server snap-in.Index Server must be installed for the snap-in to be present.Index Server 2.0 will not install on Windows NT Workstation 4.0.
