VIZACT: Cannot Add Grow/Shrink Effect to Text That Has Mixed Font Sizes (236750)

SYMPTOMS

When you apply a grow or a shrink effect to text that has mixed font sizes, the effect does not work for all of the text.

CAUSE

If the text has mixed font sizes, grow and shrink effects do not work. The font size settings on the individual parts of the text override the added effects.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
  1. If you have already applied the effect to the entire text selection, delete the Grow/Shrink effect.
  2. Select the first part of the text that has the same font size.
  3. Apply the Grow/Shrink effect to that part of the text.
  4. Select the next part of the text that has the same font size.
  5. Apply the same effect to that part of the text.
  6. Repeat this procedure as necessary for each section of the text that you want to apply a Grow/Shrink effect to.
