VIZACT: Pressing Enter at Time Zero Creates Blank Actors on Timeline (236682)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Vizact 2000

This article was previously published under Q236682

SYMPTOMS

When you press Enter, an additional node with the name "actor" (without the quotes) appears on the timeline. Another actor appears on the timeline each time you press Enter. You may notice that the time duration of the new actor is the same as the object before it.

CAUSE

When the timeline is at time zero and the cursor is at the end of a section of timed text, the cursor is actually inside the container, which holds the preceding timed element. When you press Enter and the cursor goes to the next line, Vizact creates a new empty element (an actor) with the same timing applied as the previous element, but without any content.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To work around this behavior, right-click the empty actor, and click Remove All Timing from the menu. This will remove the empty actors.
