MOD2000: Office Developer Add-ins Are Not Displayed for All Users on Windows NT (236512)

SYMPTOMS

The add-ins from Microsoft Office Developer are not displayed in Microsoft Windows NT after you log on as a different user.

CAUSE

The person who installs Microsoft Office Developer (MOD) is the only one who can see the MOD add-ins.

RESOLUTION

You must run the Setup program for each person who will use the add-ins.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. On a computer running Windows NT, create two logins, User1 and User2.
  2. Log on as User1, and then install Microsoft Office 2000 Developer.
  3. After the installation is finished, log off, and then log back on as User2.
  4. Press ALT+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor, and then on the Add-ins menu, click Add-in Manager. Note that no add-ins are listed.
  5. Log off, and then log back on as User1.
  6. Press ALT+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor, and then on the Add-ins menu, click Add-in Manager. Note that all the add-ins are listed.
