SYMPTOMS

When you use the touch effect in Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000, you may receive one of the following error messages:
Photodrw caused a general protection fault in module Gdi.exe.
Photodrw caused a general protection fault in module M2gfx.drv.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if following conditions are true:
  • A Leadtek WinFast 3D S800 video adapter is installed in your computer.
  • The following Chromatic MPACT video software is installed on your computer:
    • Mpact Resource Monitor
    • Mpact Mediaware Properties Taskbar Icon

RESOLUTION

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.


To work around this issue, use Registry Editor to delete the Rmmon value from the following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Version\RunServices

and the Mmpti value from the following registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Version\Run
