SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add a multicast IP with the same IP address as another station, the following error message occurs:
This Multicast IP Address is already being used by station Station1.

Where Station1 is the name of an existing multicast station.

CAUSE

Some multicast clients have trouble distinguishing between two different multicast streams on the same IP address even if the multicasts are on different ports. Regardless of the port, some clients will receive all multicasts on a given IP.

This behavior is by design to prevent clients from receiving all data on all ports being streamed to a single multicast IP address.
