Nothing happens when you click Command on the shortcut menu (235917)

SYMPTOMS

If you right-click an object in the Keyboard tool in Control Panel, and then click a command (such as More Help or What's This) on the shortcut menu, nothing happens.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the length of the path to the installation folder of the IntelliType Pro software is 102 characters or greater.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove and then reinstall the IntelliType Pro software to its default installation folder. To do this:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click Microsoft IntelliType Pro, and then click Add/Remove.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to remove the IntelliType Pro software.
  5. Reinstall the IntelliType Pro software. When you are prompted to select a destination folder, click Next, and then follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro version 1.0.
