SYMPTOMS

When you remove (uninstall) Microsoft Office 2000, Internet Explorer 5 is not removed.

CAUSE

Even though you may have installed Internet Explorer 5 when you installed Office 2000, the two products must be removed separately.

RESOLUTION

To remove Internet Explorer 5, please do the following:
  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, double-click Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools.
  4. In the Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools dialog box, click the Restore the previous Windows configuration option and then click OK.
