XADM: The "Find Now" Button Displays Hidden Mailboxes in Address List Views (234714)

SYMPTOMS

When you click to select the Hide from Exchange address lists check box in a user's Active Directory properties, the user still appears when you use the Find Now button to query Address List views with Exchange System Manager.

STATUS

This behavior is by design. The Exchange 2000 administrator can use the Find Now query to find both hidden and unhidden objects, for example, all mailboxes in a specific organizational unit.

MORE INFORMATION

The Hide from Exchange address lists check box is located on the Exchange Advanced tab of the user's Active Directory properties. This can only be viewed by clicking Advanced Properties from the View menu of Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
