CAUSE

You may receive this error message if you created the transform by using the Custom Installation Wizard (CIW) on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 Beta 3.

WORKAROUND

To prevent this error from occurring when you use the transform, follow these steps:
  1. Install the CIW on a computer that is running a released operating system.
  2. Start the CIW.
  3. In the Open the MST File dialog box, click to select Open an existing MST file.
  4. Locate and select the transform (.mst) you created previously. Click Next.
  5. In the Select the MST File to Save dialog box, click Finish. This saves your transform again in the correct format without making changes to the transform content.
  6. Run Setup using this newly saved copy of the transform.
