SYMPTOMS

When you open a PowerPoint presentation for edit or read-only, or you save a modified PowerPoint presentation, the create date for your presentation may change to the same date as the modified date (the current date or some other non-specific date).

CAUSE

This is caused by a problem in the way PowerPoint handles presentation files.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
