XCCC: Changing the Exchange Conferencing Service Host Server in a Multisite Deployment (233216)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server
This article was previously published under Q233216 SYMPTOMS
The Microsoft Exchange Conferencing Service on the new host server reports an error, and then shuts down.
CAUSE
This behavior may occur if the Exchange Conferencing Service has been moved from one host server to another in a multisite deployment.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, you have to introduce the new server as the host server for the Conferencing Service. To do so, it is necessary to stop the Conferencing Service on the first host server.
STATUS
This behavior is by design and is not a malfunction.
MORE INFORMATION
When you are moving the Conferencing Service host server in a domain that has a replica domain controller, you must first stop the Conferencing Service on the active host server.
