SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Microsoft Windows Millennium or Internet Explorer 5.5 on a Gateway Destination XTV computer, you may experience any of the following symptoms:
  • The DestiVu Web TV program may not function correctly.
  • When you attempt to start DestiVu Web TV, you may receive the following error message:
    The A/V panel for this device is not configured properly to run DestiVu.

CAUSE

Windows 98 Second Edition:

This issue can occur if the Atibt829.sys file is missing or damaged.

Windows Millennium and Internet Explorer:

The cause for this behavior is unknown.

RESOLUTION

This resolution is for DestiVu version 1.x only:

To resolve this issue, contact Gateway to inquire about obtaining an update that resolves this issue.

NOTE: There is no fix for the version 2.x software and per Gateway they are not planning to come out with one as the Destination computers are not in production anymore.

To start DestiVu Web TV use the Atibt829.sys file. When you install Windows 98 Second Edition, the Atibt829.sys file may be replaced with the Bt829.sys file.
