SYMPTOMS

When you try to play the Dragon's Lair game, you may receive the following error message:
MMSYSTEM277 A problem occurred in initializing MCI.
Try restarting Windows.
Error opening file
File: DVD-ROM drive letter:\dldvdrom\DLS00.VOB
Driver:MPEGVIDEO

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the Media Control Interface (MCI) driver for your DVD-ROM drive is missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, reinstall the device driver provided with your DVD-ROM drive, or contact your hardware manufacturer to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.
