IntelliMouse Wheel Nonfunctional in Search for Files or Folders Explorer Bar (232040)

SYMPTOMS

You cannot scroll with the Microsoft IntelliMouse wheel in the "Search for Files or Folders" Explorer Bar (the left pane). Neither spinning the wheel nor clicking the wheel button and then moving the mouse functions.

Note that this behavior does not apply to the Search Results pane.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
