SYMPTOMS

When you create a backup set that spans multiple writable CD-ROMs using the Microsoft Backup tool, you may receive the following error message when the first CD-ROM is full:
Unexpected end of media reached.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Backup tool included in Windows 98 does not support writable CD-ROMs.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, upgrade to the latest version of the Veritas Software Backup Exec Desktop 98 program which supports optical media devices. For information about obtaining the latest software update, please visit the following Veritas Software Web site: NOTE: Backup Exec for Windows 95 was previously supported by Seagate Software but is now supported by Veritas Software.
