XL2000: Manual Page Breaks Are Not Displayed in Normal View When "Fit to Page" Parameter Is Omitted (230974)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel 2000

This article was previously published under Q230974

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Fit to Page option in Page Setup, but omit one parameter (either width or height), the page breaks in the other dimension are not seen in the worksheet's Normal view.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because page breaks are not displayed at any time in which the Fit to Page option is selected.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, review the page breaks in Page Break Preview.

MORE INFORMATION

By using the Fit to Page option in Page Setup, you suppress the display of page breaks in Normal view, regardless of the number of pages chosen for width or height, including none. This behavior is the same as that of Microsoft Excel 97, but different from that of Excel 95.
