Date Formatting Problems in Internet Explorer 5 (230524)

SYMPTOMS

When the INPUT tag is data-bound to the RDS data control, Mshtml.dll does not correctly translate data from the data source using regional settings. For certain system/regional settings such as French/French Canadian, data such as dates and numbers are displayed by the INPUT element in United States default format.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 5 service pack that contains this hotfix.
