OFF2000: Motionless Office Assistant Is Not Displayed in the Assistant Gallery (229414)

RESOLUTION

To see the Motionless Office Assistant on the Gallery tab of the Office Assistant dialog box, follow these steps:

1. Quit all Office programs.
2. Move Stillogo.acs into one of the following folders, depending on the version of Windows you are using:

   Microsoft Windows 95 and Microsoft Windows 98

   \Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Actors

   Microsoft Windows NT 4.0

   \Winnt\Profiles\User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Actors

   Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows XP

   \Documents and Settings\User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Actors

If you want the Motionless Office Assistant to be available for any user who has not yet logged on to a computer running Windows NT 4.0 (the user does not yet have a profile), follow these steps:

1. Create the following folder structure under the Default User profile:

   \Winnt\Profiles\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Actors.

2. Copy Stillogo.acs from the ORK into the Actors folder that you created in the previous step. This folder structure will be copied to a new user's profile the first time the user logs on.

If you want the Motionless Office Assistant to be available for any user who has not yet logged on to a computer running Windows 2000 or Windows XP (the user does not yet have a profile), follow these steps:

1. Create the following folder structure under the Default User profile:

   \Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Actors.

2. Copy Stillogo.acs into the folder.

This folder structure will be copied to a new user's profile the first time that the user logs on.
