SYMPTOMS

When you click Finish in the FileMaker Wizard, you encounter one of the following problems:
  • The wizard imports the data from your FileMaker database into the wrong worksheet.

    -or-

  • You unexpectedly receive the following message:
The location that you selected will cause the imported data to overwrite data already in your workbook. Are you sure you want to continue?
When you click Yes, the wizard overwrites the data on the active worksheet, even though you specified a different worksheet into which to import the data from your FileMaker database.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you specify a range that is not part of the active worksheet in the Range box of the FileMaker Wizard - Step 3 of 3 - Select Location dialog box. The FileMaker Wizard always imports data into the active worksheet.

WORKAROUND

Switch to the worksheet that you want to import your data into before you start the FileMaker Wizard.
