SYMPTOMS

When you upgrade your computer from Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 to Windows 2000 Professional, your regional settings (you user locale and input locale) may not be retained.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the name of the locale has been changed in Windows 2000, or if the locale is not supported in Windows 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
