CG5: Cannot Copy and Paste from Clip Gallery (226637)

If you attempt to paste a clip from Microsoft Clip Gallery into a ClipArt placeholder on either the Clip Art & Text or Text & Clip Art PowerPoint slide layouts, your clip may not paste, and you may also receive a system beep.
CAUSE
When Clip Gallery is run from the ClipArt placeholder, you can only
use the Insert button to insert a clip to the placeholder. You cannot use the copy and paste technique with selected clips when you open Clip Gallery from a PowerPoint ClipArt placeholder.
WORKAROUND
If you want to use the copy and paste technique to insert a clip image to a slide, you can start Clip Gallery 5.0 by using one of the following commands:
- Click the Clip Gallery button located on the Drawing tool bar.
- On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and click Clip Gallery.
To copy the image, select the Clip that you want, and press CTRL+C. Return to the placeholder, click to select it, and press CTRL+V.
STATUS
Clip Gallery is in a special mode when activated from a PowerPoint ClipArt placeholder.
