This executable program triggers a command to send or receive e-mail from the Internet service provider (ISP). Mailnow.exe runs when you click "Send and Receive Now" from the Manage E-Mail page of the SBS console.

You can use Mailnow.exe to schedule periodic delivery and retrieval of e-mail through the Microsoft Exchange Server Internet Mail Service.

To schedule a new task to run Mailnow.exe at a specified interval:
  1. Double-click the My Computer icon, and then double-click the Scheduled Tasks folder.
  2. Double-click Add Scheduled Task, and then click Next.
  3. Click Browse, and then select Mailnow.exe from the SmallBusiness folder.
  4. Click to select the frequency for the scheduled event.
  5. Type the Administrator account and password for the task.
If you want more granular control of scheduling, you can edit the task using the Advanced button in the Schedule tab.
