Sound Recorder May Not Work with Aztech Sound Card in Windows 2000 (226427)

SYMPTOMS

After you upgrade to Windows 2000 on a computer that contains a sound card based on either the Aztech 1605 or 2316 chip set, the Sound Recorder tool (Sndrec32.exe) may no longer record sound.

CAUSE

Aztech Labs is no longer writing Windows Driver Model (WDM) drivers for sound cards based on the 1605 or 2316 chip set. Sound cards that use these chip sets include:
  • Sound Galaxy Nova-16
  • Sound Galaxy Nova-16 Extra/Orion-16
  • Sound Galaxy Nova-16 Extra II
