"Log on to" Box Missing After Pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE (226177)

SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows 2000 on a computer configured as a stand-alone workstation, the Log on to dialog box may not appear when you press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you install Windows 2000 on a computer configured as a stand-alone workstation in a workgroup named "Workgroup."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, click Options in the Log On to Windows dialog box to specify a domain.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
