Internet Access Report Shows Multiple Entries for Same User Account in Korean Version of SBS (225287)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5

This article was previously published under Q225287

SYMPTOMS

In the Korean version of BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) 4.5, the Top 10 Users listing in the Internet Access report may show multiple entries for the same user account when different combinations of upper and lower case letters are used. For example:
  • SBSDOM\Administrator
  • SBSDOM\administrator
  • sbsdom\administrator

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the client reports the user name and domain in a case-sensitive format. The Internet Access report pulls its information from the Proxy Server log files found in %Systemdrive%\Winnt.sbs\System32\Msplogs and lists each combination as a separate instance.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, always use the same combination of upper and lower case letters when you log on to the SBS network.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5 (Korean version).

MORE INFORMATION

This problem only occurs in the Korean version of SBS 4.5.
