SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to send a message saved as a .msg file, you may get the following error message:
Unable to perform the operation. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid.
This happens when all of the following conditions are true:
  • Your mail is delivered to a personal folders (.pst) file.
  • You are using Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor.
  • The message is composed in Microsoft Outlook Rich Text (RTF) format.
  • The message contains an attachment.
  • The message was saved as a message (.msg) file.
  • The .msg file was opened and modified before it was sent.

RESOLUTION

Change one of the conditions outlined in the Symptoms section above.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
