WD2000: StartupPath Property Not Updated After Registry Change (224667)

SYMPTOMS

When you set the Word Startup path by changing the value in the Windows registry either programmatically or manually, the value returned using the Visual Basic for Applications StartUpPath property is incorrect.

To set the Word Startup path, do the following:
  1. On the Tools menu, clickOptions.
  2. Click the File Locations tab.
  3. In the list of File types, click to select Startup.
  4. Click Modify to change the Startup path location.

CAUSE

Word must be restarted to return the correct location of the StartUp path to the Visual Basic for Applications StartUpPath property.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, quit and then restart Word.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
