WD2000: HTML Table Caption Aligned Left/Right Changes to Center Alignment (224616)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Web page that contains a table with a caption that is either left-aligned or right-aligned, the table caption is converted to center alignment.

WORKAROUND

After you open the Web page in Microsoft Word, change the alignment of the table caption to either left-aligned or right-aligned using the following steps:
  1. Select the table caption.
  2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph.
  3. On the Indents and Spacing tab, change the Alignment box to either Left or Right and then click OK.
  4. On the File menu, click Save.
When you reopen your Web page in Word or view your Web page in a Web browser, the table caption appears as either left-aligned or right-aligned, as you specified.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
