SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to plan a route in Microsoft Expedia Streets and Trips 2000, the route may not be calculated, and you may receive the following error message:

Unable to calculate route from startpoint to endpoint. One of the areas may not contain necessary connectors such as ferry routes or main roads. Please move one or both of the flags and try again.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the route you have planned includes a route flag located on a highway ramp or a trail.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, move any route flag located on a highway ramp or a trail to the nearest intersection or street on the map, and then recalculate the route.
