OL2000: Conditional Formatting in Task View Does Not Display as Expected (223879)

SYMPTOMS

If you create a conditional view to display Task items that meet certain Status conditions, and apply font formatting to those items that meet your conditions, the formatting may not display.

RESOLUTION

Format the view using the Advanced tab of the Filter dialog box.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

To format the conditional view of the Tasks folder:
  1. On the View menu, click Current View, and then click Customized Current View.
  2. Click Automatic Formatting, and then click Add. In the Name box, type a name for your conditional rule.
  3. Click Font and apply the formatting you want to use in the conditional view. Click OK.
  4. Click Condition and then click the Tasks tab. In the Status list, ensure that Doesn't Matter is selected. This is an important step because if you have previously selected the Status from this list, the filtered condition will not work.
  5. Click the Advanced tab, and in the Field list, point to All Task Fields, and then click Status.
  6. In the Condition list, click to select Equals, and then in the Value list, click to select the Task status you wish to filter. Click Add To List. The condition should appear in the Find items that match these criteria list. Click OK, OK, and OK.
The conditional view you created displays the filtered tasks.
