SYMPTOMS

The ScreenTip for your custom Printer button on the toolbar does not display the name of your active printer.

WORKAROUND

To determine the name of the active printer, click Print on the File menu or click the custom Print button. The name is displayed in the resulting dialog box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

When you hold your mouse pointer over the default Print button on the toolbar, the ScreenTip displays the name of the active printer.

To activate ScreenTips:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.
  2. On the Options tab, click to check the Show ScreenTips on toolbars check box, and then click Close.
