The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q223531

SYMPTOMS

When you select the appropriate country for a contact whose telephone number is in a country other than your own, the country setting changes to the language setting of the version of Microsoft Windows you use.

CAUSE

This occurs when the country code is used by more than one country. For example, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, Trinidad, Tobago, and the United States each use 1 as the country code.

In the instances mentioned, dialing is not affected.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
