PRJ41: File Associated with Openmail.exe Is Deleted (223158)

SYMPTOMS

When you open a file that is associated with Openmail.exe, the file may be deleted and you may receive the following error message:

Attached file containing Workgroup mail information is damaged or missing.

CAUSE

This error message may occur when you associate a file type (extension) with Openmail.exe, and the file type is not a Microsoft Project workgroup message.

This behavior is by design. Openmail.exe is part of the workgroup messaging feature of Microsoft Project. It is designed to delete unneeded files after being used.
