SUMMARY

During BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) Setup, you can specify the folder in which the SBS components are installed.

MORE INFORMATION

To specify the location, click Custom, when you are prompted to choose a custom or complete installation. A custom installation lets you specify the hard disk and folder in which the different components are installed.

To specify the installation location for individual subcomponents, click the plus sign (+) to the left of the component name. This expands the list of subcomponents and the folders in which they are installed. For example, if you click the plus sign (+) next to Microsoft Exchange Server, the list of components expands to show the Exchange Server subcomponents (such as the Exchange Server Administrator program or the Exchange Server databases).

This feature lets you put certain components on different drives to accommodate growth and address possible security concerns. For example, the Exchange Server databases files grow in size over time, and work best when they are located on a hard disk with several megabytes of free disk space.
