"Client Must Use These Cover Pages" Feature Doesn't Work on Windows 9x Clients (222505)

SYMPTOMS

The Fax Server component of Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) allows the administrator to specify the list of cover pages that will be available for network clients to use when faxing.

This option is set by doing the following:
  1. In Control Panel, double-click Fax Server.
  2. Click the Cover Page tab.
  3. Click to select the Clients must use these cover pages check box.
When this feature is set, network clients using the Windows NT operating system will only be able to use the selected cover pages when sending a fax; however, Windows 95 or Windows 98 network clients will still be able to choose whatever cover page they want to use or not use.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5.

MORE INFORMATION

Restarting the server or network clients does not have an affect on this problem.
