If you paste text copied from a Rich Text Format (RTF) source such as Microsoft Word, into an Outlook Plain Text message, the text may be readable up to a point, but become unintelligible if certain special characters are encountered.
CAUSE
The Plain Text message is designed to accommodate only a single character style.
RESOLUTION
Use either the Outlook Rich Text, or HTML message formats.
