OL2000: Can't Reselect Feature to Install If You Chose No the First Time (222241)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q222241

SYMPTOMS

If you click No when prompted to install an Outlook component on demand, you may not receive another prompt to install should you change your mind.

RESOLUTION

Change the focus to another feature and then back to the one you originally chose. You should then receive a second prompt to install the feature on demand when you click Next, or click Next several times.

MORE INFORMATION

An example of this behavior is when you try to import or export and the import or export feature is not yet installed. For example, when you choose the conversion type, such as, Export to the Timex Data Link watch, you are prompted to install the feature. If you click No, you do not receive another prompt. If you change the focus by clicking another export or import option and then back to the original option, you will receive the prompt to install again.
