Homepub Err Msg: There Is Not Enough Disk Space to Complete Installation (221987)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to install one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following error message:
There is not enough disk space to complete installation. You can change your installation options, continue installation, or exit Setup.
NOTE: You may receive this error message even if sufficient space is available on the hard disk on which you are installing the program.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if there is not enough available space on the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows is installed.

When you install Home Publishing 99 or Greetings 99, the following shared components are installed on the same drive on which Windows is installed:

  • Clip Art Catalogs
  • Clip Gallery
  • Fonts
  • Graphic Filters
  • Proofing tools
  • Sytem files

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, free enough hard disk space on the drive on which Windows is installed to install the shared components. To determine the amount of free space needed by Home Publishing 99 and Greetings 99, check the minimum system requirements listed on the bottom of the product box.

You may be able to work around this issue by selecting the Minimum Installation option when you install Home Publishing 99 or Greetings 99.

When you select the Minimum Installation option, the clip art catalogs included with Home Publishing 99 and Greetings 99 remain on the CD-ROM. The clip art catalogs included with Home Publishing 99 require 170 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space. The clip art catalogs included with Greetings 99 require 40 MB of available hard disk space.

NOTE: If you select the Minimum Installation option, you are prompted to insert the Home Publishing 99 or Greetings 99 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive when you want to insert clip art.
