Moving a File Into or Out of a Web Folder Does Not Remove the Source File (220919)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to move a file into or out of a Web folder, the file may not be removed from its original location.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you attempt to move the file using one of the following methods:
  • You drag the file using the right mouse button and click Move Here on the context menu.
  • You cut and paste the file from the Web folder to its new location.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, delete the original file after copying it to its new location.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
