WD2000: Drawing Object Distorted When Printing Multiple Sheets per Page (220496)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word 2000

This article was previously published under Q220496

SYMPTOMS

If you print a document that contains a drawing object to a printer that has a non-square resolution (such as 1440x720 dpi, 1200x600 dpi, or 600x300 dpi), when you print multiple pages per sheet (such as two pages per sheet), the drawing object prints wider than the height of the object.

For example, if you print a page containing a 1-inch square drawing object to a printer that has a resolution of 1440x720 dpi, the square prints wider than it is tall.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, print your document to a printer that has a square resolution aspect. For example, print to a printer that provides a resolution similar to any of the following:
  • 300x300 dpi
  • 600x600 dpi
  • 720x720 dpi

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
