WORKAROUND

To remove Asian formatting properties from the Normal paragraph style, use one of the following methods that best suits your needs.

NOTE: The Asian paragraph style properties do not adversely affect the appearance or output of your Word document. The follow methods are provided only as a way to remove these properties.

Method 1: Insert File in a New Document

Use the following steps to insert the entire contents of the original file into a new document:
  1. On the File menu, click New. On the General tab, double-click Blank Document. Or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+N.
  2. On the Insert menu, click File, and select the earlier-version Word document to insert.

Method 2: Copy and Paste the Entire Document Without the Last Paragraph Mark to a New File

Use the following steps to copy just the text of the original document and then paste the information into a new document (headers, footers, and positioned objects will not be included):
  1. You can select everything except the last paragraph mark by pressing CTRL+END and then CTRL+SHIFT+HOME.
  2. On the File menu, click New. On the General tab, double-click Blank Document. Or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+N.
  3. On the Edit menu, click Paste to paste the information into the new document.
