The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q220095

SYMPTOMS

When you use the <map> tags in FrontPage, the HTML within the <map> tags is not displayed in Normal view.

CAUSE

FrontPage preserves the HTML for <map> tags but does not display it in Normal view.

RESOLUTION

When you use the <map> tags in FrontPage, there is no icon that indicates where the HTML is located on the page. If you need to have a placeholder for the layout of this Web page, put your <map> tag HTML in the HTML Markup component. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Place your insertion point in the location where you want the <map> tags.
  2. On the Insert menu, point to Advanced, and click HTML. Type your HTML code in the HTML Markup dialog box.
  3. Click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
