FP2000: Unusual Truncation of Paths in Recent Files List (219928)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q219928

SYMPTOMS

When you save a page to a folder on your hard disk, the Recent Files list may truncate the path to the folder in an unusual manner.

For example, the Recent Files list truncates the following location for a Web page

D:\Documents and Settings\user name\My Documents\My Webs\document.htm

to the following:

D:\Documen\...\My Documents\My Webs\document.htm

This behavior occurs on systems that have User Profiles enabled.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design of Microsoft FrontPage, which uses the Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) algorithm for truncating paths.
