FP2000: Edit Menu Commands Not Available on Preview Tab (219809)

SYMPTOMS

When you view a form element, such as a one-line text box, on the Preview tab of FrontPage, the following Edit menu commands are unavailable (dimmed):
  • Cut
  • Copy
  • Paste
  • Paste Special
  • Select All
  • Delete

CAUSE

The Preview tab uses Microsoft Internet Explorer to display the web page that you create on the Normal tab. The edit commands are not passed to the Internet Explorer user interface.

RESOLUTION

To use the commands on the Edit menu, use the following keyboard shortcuts for the commands:
  • Cut: CTRL+X
  • Copy: CTRL+C
  • Paste: CTRL+V
  • Select All: CTRL+A
  • Delete: DELETE
NOTE: There is no keyboard shortcut for Paste Special.
