FP2000: Animation Conversion Does Not Work Correctly for Sublists (219719)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

This article was previously published under Q219719

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft FrontPage 2000, you may not receive the expected results when you open a page created in Microsoft FrontPage 98 if the following conditions are true:
  • The page contains a bulleted list with a sublist.

    -and-
  • The page contains an animation effect that is applied to the list items.
FrontPage 2000 may not correctly convert the animations that you apply to the bulleted list and sublist. Some animations may be removed, while other animations may not be removed.

CAUSE

Normally, FrontPage does not remove animations; rather, it converts them. However, when an animation is applied to a list (using the LI tag) in which the animation does not work, FrontPage removes the animation. In the case of a bulleted list with a sublist, one bulleted line may not be tagged with the LI tag, and therefore the animation is removed from all but this one bulleted line.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
