FP2000: Unable to Drag Absolutely Positioned Element Past Bottom of Page (219614)

SYMPTOMS

When you work with absolutely positioned elements that are nested, you may not be able to absolutely position the element past the bottom of the page.

No scroll bars appear when you attempt to place the absolutely positioned element past the bottom of the page.

CAUSE

The body of the Web page is not increasing its height for the page. The scroll bars will not appear when you attempt to drag an absolutely positioned element beyond the height of the page.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Open the page you want to use in FrontPage.
  2. At the bottom of the page, press Enter several times to increase the height of the page. Repeat as necessary until your page has the desired height.
  3. Use the drag technique to move your absolutely positioned element to the desired place on the page.
